There are basically three methods of non-woven consolidation: a mechanical method, one using special textile fibres, and a chemical method.
- The mechanical system involves using needle looms, depending on the density and end use of the product obtained.
- Special low melt fibres can be used, such that they blend with the other fibres, and in the thermobonding process these fibres melt and join the rest.
- Another method to consolidate the fibres is by adding (thermobonding) resins in powder form, which may or may not be thermostable.
Due to a wide range of possibilities, we will assess each project according to whether these options are requested.
